Howood, Cinnamomum camph. Ho-Sho (1570). Ho-oil has a soft, sweet, slightly spicy fragrance. It may be used as a substitute for rosewood because of its similar scent and chemical makeup: 80 to 90% linalol. It is useful for respiratory ailments such as colds, flu, and coughs, or for muscular aches and pains in a massage oil. This is a pure therapeutic-quality aromatherapy essential oil produced using wild-crafted plants and traditional methods from China, and is obtained from the wood of the tree.
