Copaiva (Dist), Copaifera officinalis (1281). Copaiva Balm is a traditional remedy from the South American rain forests. The resin is harvested from wild trees by tapping (similar to the way rubber trees are tapped). The oil is rarely used on its own as an aromatherapy oil. It is most frequently used in blends, where its warm honeyed base note acts as a fixative for the lighter top notes. It is soothing, balancing and uplifting, and blends well with Rose, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang. This is a pure therapeutic-quality aromatherapy essential oil produced using wild-crafted plants and traditional methods from Brazil, and is obtained from the resin.
